This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:12

We desire to be active, not only in our church, but also in the community by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have many chances to do this, as our congregation regularly participates in area organizations and activities.

Nurturing our youth is a priority with our church. On Wednesday night at 6:30, our AWANA classes attract about 70 kids to the church for fun and Biblical education. Our Vacation Bible School has an average attendance of about 100 each summer. Something unique to Wellsville is the 5th Quarter get-together. During football season, we open our church to all middle school and older students after home high school games. These are a great hit and a golden opportunity to reach out to our community young people. Many of our high school students belong to the local chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and show their leadership by holding offices. Our church also regularly sponsors Baccalaureate service for the graduating senior class.

Also extremely important is our youth directors, Dennis Kichler and Sean Breithaupt, their ministry is invaluable to our youth in the surrounding community. They are very active & visible in the community.  In addition to planning weekly activities for our youth, they hosts many ministries at Dennis home that reach out to all ages of kids and young adults in our community with the message of hope and tools that enable them to live a life with purpose. Their outreach goes beyond Wellsville when they take our youth on mission trips and help with projects in our community. We are very blessed to have them on staff.

The Wellsville Baptist Church is a member of the local Ministerial Alliance. We work with area churches to present a community Thanksgiving service and an Easter sunrise service at Coffman hill, which is a very unique view of our area. We also support a community food pantry. One of our more successful event is our Trunk & Treat or Harvest festival. we offer a day filled with different fun activities for the whole community. We give out free hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, popcorn and several kinds of drinks. There is bounce houses, face painting, caricatures drawings, and lots of free candy for the kids in a safe environment. We also take our turn at the local nursing home by playing Bingo with the residents and offering a worship service every third Sunday of the month and a devotional time at 9:30 am every Thursday morning.

Many of our members are active in local government, school boards and civic organizations. We also participate in our annual Wellsville Days and help with a all church community service and multiple choice dinner for all. It is well attend by many in our community and in the rural area.
