Youth Pastor

Dennis was raised in Girard, KS where he graduated from Girard High School. In high school, Dennis was not a professing believer. However, he is quick to share his testimony, and there are many people, of all ages, who have heard it – and have been changed by it.

“I was totally changed myself when I knelt down by my old orange couch and repeated a simple prayer of acceptance in Jesus Christ, but all of Heaven was shouting and having a party, and it didn’t take very long before people were seeing a different Dennis!”

One of Dennis’ all-time favorite things, besides having the honor of introducing one of his kids to Jesus, is telling them how all of the Angels are rejoicing as their name is being written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life! It excites him so much. He and God both love parties!

“God gave me a heart for these kids. I love them and I enjoy being around them. I have so much fun just sitting and talking to them. I do my best to answer their questions, and I always let them know that they’re probably never going to try to do something I haven’t already done myself, so they’re not going to surprise me. I counsel them, I pray for them and I always point them to Jesus! God also gives me special hints about these kids, special ways to pray for them.”

Dennis often welcomes the youth to his home.  He loves it when they drop in for a while; they know the house is always open to them; and if they don’t know where everything is, somebody will tell them pretty quickly. There’s plenty to do, they can swim in the pool, hot tub, sing and tell stories around the bonfire, slip & slide, sand volleyball, hide and seek, and other really cool stuff!”

Dennis’ favorite scripture is I Timothy 4:12.

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

This describes his desire for all of his kids, all the kids in Wellsville, and all of the kids in the surrounding area. He wants to reach these kids for Jesus.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.Heb. 10:24-25

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.1 Pet. 4:10

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith. Eph 4:11-13
